Andrea brings the heritage of traditional Spanish repertoire to the concert hall, along with works composed by Sergio Assad, Joaquín Clerch, Carlos Fernando López and Dustin Carlson, which she has been honored to premiere. The TCG Showcase is the backbone of our concert season: a concert that brings together artists from our region for a concert experience devoted to the community. Join us for a performance showcasing the talented Tidewater Guitar Orchestra along with some of the best musicians in Hampton Roads. This year’s concert will feature the Virginia premiere of a brand new work by Miroslav Loncar, as well as some of our favorite works composed and arranged by members of the Tidewater Guitar Orchestra.

The Grammy Award-winning LAGQ is one of the most multifaceted groups in any genre. Composed of four uniquely accomplished musicians, they bring unmatched energy to the concert stage with programs ranging from Bluegrass to Bach. Consistently playing to sold-out houses world-wide, their inventive, critically acclaimed transcriptions of concert masterworks provide a fresh look at the music of the past, while their interpretations of works from the contemporary and world-music realms continually break new ground. This performance will feature LAGQ and the Tidewater Guitar Orchestra together performing works by Andrew York and Shingo Fuji. DO NOT MISS this once-in-a-lifetime performance!

This upbringing was instrumental in building a musical career that has bridged Classical, Jazz, and Latin American music, and helped him to discover ways to make classical music education more accessible to minorities. As one-half of the Brasil Guitar Duo—along with Douglas Lora—he won the 2006 Concert Artists Guild Competition, launching an international career with performances on four continents.
