Paul Mezzina, Treasurer
Paul began his career in Finance and Accounting after graduating from Rutgers University in 1977 earning a B.A. in Economics and Accounting and a minor in English. After spending his first 8 years as an Accountant with a regional CPA firm in New York City he transitioned to insurance brokerage.
After spending several years as a broker he moved into the Insurance Premium Finance Industry as a Sales Executive in 1987 where he currently is employed by Peoples Premium Finance (a specialty finance division of Peoples Bancorp) as Vice President & Sales Executive in the Mid Atlantic and Southeast Regions.
His interest in the classical guitar was influenced by his father and oldest brother so it was a natural path to take and began studying classical guitar at the age of 7. During that time his oldest brother began concertizing at the age of 10 debuting at Carnegie Recital Hall at 14 years old. Soon thereafter he was invited as a student to a Master Class with Andres Segovia in 1964. He mentions this because it was a very significant influence on him and was blessed by having had such a wonderful musical environment at home.
Although never having played professionally he attended several master classes in New York City given by Andres Segovia, Christopher Parkening and Angel Romero as an auditor.
Soon after moving to Williamsburg VA he discovered Tidewater Classical Guitar. After having met with Todd Holcomb he invited him to join the Board of Directors as Treasurer in 2018 and assist in organizing the finances for TCG. It has been an honor for him to be a part of Tidewater Classical Guitar for the past 6 years.
