Dr. Anibal Acosta has been an adjunct faculty member at Old Dominion University since 2005, bringing nearly two decades of experience and passion for music education to his students. Dr. Acosta holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the Manhattan School of Music in New York, obtained in 1993. His academic journey also includes a Master of Music from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, earned in 1989, and a Bachelor of Arts from the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, completed in 1985.

In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Acosta has been a dedicated board member of Tidewater Classical Guitar since September 2022. His rich educational background, extensive teaching experience, and commitment to excellence have made a significant impact on the musical community. Dr. Acosta's contributions to Tidewater Classical Guitar and his dedication to nurturing the next generation of classical guitarists make him a valued and influential member of our organization.
